Literature Text

soft music plays in the background,
piano keys pounding out beautiful
and sour
melodies
like an out of tune organ,
elegant,
eerie, but off key
(like my life)
the notes filling my ears with a soft whisper of
Trajedy
as people dance the fox trot
or was that just my mothers heals
tapping across the tile floor
trying to box me in
or was that lock me out?
the world is spinning,
but I know my head's on straight
and just one more straw
(to sip on my self-pity)
and then I'm out of here

this place, it tires me
like a liar that doesn't know when to quit
so I fired it
retired it to a 'last resort'
the skies, yes, they are quite beautiful
but her voice always ruins the
atmosphere
her spirit kills the mood
and her money is a bribe
can't buy love
but you sure can try
but I've grown me some wings
and now it's time to fly
Mother Dearest, let me count the ways
that you've shattered my hopes
making it impossible to stay

i've made my mark in the world
a black scratch
shining in defiance on a black sheet of paper
It makes a statement if you're perceptive enough to see
the pain
between the negative space.

the light inside of me must have been too bright
the warm glow that surrounded my heart
must have been more than just a flame
it burned a hole in time
preventing me from moving forward
because I couldn't figure out what I'm leaving
Behind.
but still I wave goodbye
because being nowhere in life
is better than being lost in yours.
It needs editing. I wrote it on the spur of the moment while I was at school and had nothing better to pay attention to.

It needs work. Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

Also, the capitolization is on purpose, I may change it.

It depends on my mood.
